In het voorjaar van 1989 kwam ik als student in Montpellier terecht in het Cité universitaire La Colombière.

Dit studentenhuis is gevestigd aan de Route de Ganges; de oude doorgaande weg naar de plaats Ganges aan het riviertje de Herault, zo’n 40 km noordelijker.

Het was de eerste stap, die er 32 1/2  jaar later - in de herfst van 2021 - toe leidde dat ik samen met Marjolein tijdens een vakantie in Ganges terechtkwam. 

De omgeving van Ganges en met name La Maison du Pont Vieux sprak ons zo aan, dat we besloten ons daar vanaf januari 2022 tijdelijk te vestigen. 

Deze blogpost is het begin verslag van het avontuur op weg naar - en in Ganges.

Au printemps 1989, étudiant à Montpellier, je me suis retrouvé à la Cité universitaire La Colombière.

Cette maison étudiante est située sur la Route de Ganges ; l'ancienne route principale vers la ville de Ganges sur le fleuve Hérault, à environ 40 km au nord.

C'était la première étape, qui 32 ans et demi plus tard - à l'automne 2021 - m'a conduit à me retrouver à Ganges lors de vacances avec Marjolein.

Les alentours de Ganges et en particulier la Maison du Pont Vieux nous ont tellement séduits que nous ont décidé de nous y installer temporairement à partir de janvier 2022.

Ce billet de blog est le début de l'aventure sur le chemin de - et dans Ganges.
